Is XCM a new product? No. Developed in 2002, XCM was the first workflow management solution designed specifically for the accounting profession. Since then, XCM has benefitted from the input and experiences of thousands of accounting professionals, through its customer guided development process.

We are not paperless, can we still benefit from XCM? Of course, XCM will automate your current paper based system or processes. You will still benefit from the real time, web-based technology that will assist your firm to gain hours of non-productive, non-billable hours every day.
Is XCM just another Tracking system? No, tracking and due date monitoring are features within XCM. However, XCM is much more. Can I use XCM to process more than tax returns? Designed by CPAs for the accounting profession, XCM is an intuitive solution that automates and standardizes processes for completing all work across the firm and in all departments, including audit, tax, consulting, and human resources, in a single workflow solution.
Is there any training involved? How difficult is the application to use? Training your professional and administrative staff is quick and easy. Training usually takes less than a few hours and can be done over the Internet. Since XCM is web based, it has the same simple and intuitive features most web sites have to navigate the application. The product Help menu provides a simple User Guide and helpful video tutorials for a quick refresher on key functionality. And XCM customer service professionals are there to help with any questions you may have.
Is this only for the larger firms? XCM will help firms of all sizes be more productive and efficient. We currently have firms as small as two people using XCM and as large as 2,000 people.
Can I access XCM from my clients’ office or from my home? Absolutely, as long as you have a connection to the internet you can access XCM. This is the best benefit of all. Our clients appreciate the fact that they can have dinner with their family during the busy season and then connect from their home computer to answer questions from their staff or clients.
Does everyone in the firm have access to XCM? Who has access to the system is controlled by your firm. However, we highly recommend that everyone has access to XCM. Our clients have found that if everyone can use XCM, the efficiencies multiply proportionately. Many firms allow the receptionist to answer some of their client’s questions, especially “I am waiting for my return and it hasn’t arrived yet!” With a click of a mouse the receptionist can assure the client where their return is and when they will receive it.
Do we need to purchase any additional software or report writers? No, XCM is a web-based application, commonly referred to as Software as a Service (SaaS). There is no need to buy any software, updates, or report writer. Everything you will need to use XCM is provided via the web.
Will XCM work with the software I am using now? XCM is an open platform system that works horizontally with all tax, practice management and document management software, and integrates with popular document and practice management products. XCM allows you to leverage the investment you have already made in these software packages by incorporating real-time access to your firms and clients information at anytime from anywhere.
Do I need to get my IT Partner involved? You don’t have to but we would highly recommend it. Most IT Partners or managers love our application. Since XCM is web-based there is nothing to install on each computer or update later on. All you need is a high speed Internet connection, user name and passwords, and you will instantly reap the benefits of XCM.
